Tree of Life Painting in process (22/40)

A recent post from Maria Popova, Introducing Marginalian Editions: Extraordinary Forgotten Books Brought Back to Life, caught my attention. In it, she lifts up Muriel Rukeyser’s work, Willard Gibbs: The Whole Is Simpler than Its Parts.

Rukeyser writes, “Whatever has happened, whatever is going to happen in the world, it is the living moment that contains the sum of the excitement, this moment in which we touch life and all the energy of the past and future.”

As elements are being added to the painting, I hope it’s notable that the leaves are diverse and even the seasons, different. I’m trusting the Tree of Life to hold all the diversity.

The three elements added in this post are the mushrooms (creed), the praying mantis (prayers of intercession), and the olive branch (peace).

Hope you’re having a good Anniversary day 😊

This painting is already incredible…even from the earliest versions of it…the background…lol! I can’t imagine what it will be like completed…even with the pencil marks showing where everything is going. WOW!
