Remembering Mary Lou

“An African proverb: Our loved ones are never really gone if we talk about them.” -Pastor Emmanuel Jackson, Living Word, Katy, TX

I worked on this image while listening to the livestream of the funeral for Living Word Friend, Mary Lou. I learned so much about presence from Mary Lou as I watched her lead The Gathering, a ministry providing respite care for people suffering from memory loss. Her joyful spirit was God’s presence.

Pausing to savor the memories of her all-embracing hugs and big smile. And shedding a few tears with the memories. Thanks for the reminder. ________________________________
