Instagram holds many seasons of my creative contemplation. It continues to be a place I share fresh paint & ink, and I'd be delighted to meet you there!

“Let no one say the past is dead, the past is all about us and within.” -Oodgeroo Noonucal Every eight years the dance of Venus and Earth create the pattern called the Rose of Venus. You can see a video of their dance here -https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H4fHl541uaw. Still pondering the colors for my Pentecost image, especially the area under the curves that is currently yellow in the first sketch. Although next in my liturgical lineup of images is Pentecost, today I share my green Ordinary Time one as a way to honor St. Patrick. “The paradox of hospitality is that it wants to create emptiness— a friendly emptiness where strangers can enter and discover themselves as created free; free to sing their own songs, speak their own languages, dance their own dances…” -Henri Nouwen Before Fibonacci came Pingala, an ancient Indian poet and mathematician (c. 3rd-2nd century BCE.) Pingala studied poetic metres and verse in Sanskrit prosody. Here is the image in process for Good Friday. I scribbled a prayer in the margins: YHWH, forgive our lack of imagination. There is rich visual imagery when remembering the Passion Week. I recently learned that there’s an art word, pentimento, that is “the presence or emergence of earlier images, forms, strokes painted over.” It’s also the Italian word for repentance.

You can also view my work on Pinterest. Here's an image from my recent journaling through The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story.
