Since moving to the Grunewald Guild in 2016, I’ve created a library of photos in an Instagram called Grunewald_Graces. I’ve longed to spend more time with these images and it seems a logical next step to paint them.

Welcome to my new journey with oil painting! It’s fresh and new… and wow, am I learning a lot. It’s funny… what I’m finding is that an exact painting of what I see does not seem to be what I’m being called to in this work. I am so grateful that alongside studying the photo with great attention comes something more that the paint offers, perhaps even requires.
