July 21

There is a special energy and spirit that connect and flow through this day’s images. I hope you can see and sense it, too.

I remember the surprise encounter with a star as I looked deeply into the Amazon’s yellow flower. I didn’t know to call this Sacred Geometry in 2014; there was Something in me, though, that knew it as Sacred.

When I think of Steve’s message at the National Youth Gathering, I remember Darius Simmons. I remember, too, a song I heard sung by the children at All Peoples Church (where Pastor Steve served) during their Freedom School.

May Something Inside So Strong continue to awaken and open our hearts to love.

2015 – These pages are notes from Pastor Steve Jerbi’s message during the ELCA’s 2015 National Youth Gathering in Detroit. If they are being cropped in your email, click on the “July 21” above to see the complete images.

2018 – This is a 16″x20″ stained glass mosaic created during a Grunewald Guild Summer Program week. I had created the design during a previous week’s class called Sacred Geometry. The theme for the Summer of 2018 was River Flow.

“Seven Years of Wonder” is a daily look back at my creative journaling posts since 2014. I began this journey on Feb. 11, 2021, and hope to continue through Feb. 10, 2022. What am I learning about my art and faith journey thus far? What has remained constant? Where have I been changed? How is this impacting present and future art-making?

A deep bow of gratitude to you for keeping me company on this journey.
