I was standing next to a lake yesterday and saw something create a little splash in the distance. I watched as the splash’s rings expanded, becoming gentler and gentler as they moved along. I waited, hoping a ring would come to me. Instead I felt a breeze at my back and watched as its ripples took what I thought was my ring away.
