It may not be obvious, so I want to credit Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her iconic favorite collar as another part of the inspiration for the 2020 image in process.

Hat tips (Pen tips?), as well, to Pastors Kayla McClurg and Nancy Gradwohl, for their lives’ witness.

Gratitude is welling up within me for the women in my life.

“Faith is not a commodity God pours into us but a condition that wells up in us as we go step by sometimes fearful step into the steady practice of the Jesus way.” ~Kayla McClurg

Yesterday I attended the installation of Faith’s new pastor Nancy Olsen Gradwohl. As she was standing before us, accepting the call, the sun started shining SO brightly on her… almost blindingly bright.

“…in building culture, one good place to start is by letting go of a focus on oneself, and re-centering the focus on benefitting one’s fellow human beings.” —Resmaa Menakem, My Grandmother’s Hands, p. 265

“Seven Years of Wonder” is a daily look back at my creative journaling posts since 2014. I began this journey on Feb. 11, 2021, and hope to continue through Feb. 10, 2022. What am I learning about my art and faith journey thus far? What has remained constant? Where have I been changed? How is this impacting present and future art-making?

A deep bow of gratitude to you for keeping me company on this journey.
