I pray there is a detail (“un detalle” in Spanish) from this post that touches within you an experience of love.

2019 – What I wrote back in 2019:

Oh, my heart… Mary Oliver died today, at the age of 83. Two beloved mentors (Mary through her poetry and Liz through her friendship) come together in this image. Thank you, Liz, for teaching me to use ‘spaciousness’ as another word for ‘salvation.’ Words I dedicate to Mary: A poet’s hospitality creates spaciousness. Rest in the Abiding Light, Mary.

2020

“The movement of God’s Spirit is very gentle, very soft — and hidden. It does not seek attention. But that movement is also very persistent, strong, and deep. It changes our hearts radically.” —Henri Nouwen, Life of the Beloved

2021

“These are the days of ritual, of changing parameters, of paradox, and of humble courage.” —Bayo Akomolafe, These Wilds Beyond Our Fences, p. 285

“Seven Years of Wonder” is a daily look back at my creative journaling posts since 2014. I began this journey on Feb. 11, 2021, and hope to continue through Feb. 10, 2022. What am I learning about my art and faith journey thus far? What has remained constant? Where have I been changed? How is this impacting present and future art-making?

A deep bow of gratitude to you for keeping me company on this journey.
