May you sense the Peace of the Eternal in each and every step.
If you happen to know how a normal EKG looks, don’t be alarmed by the path of my heart. Years ago when the 2015 image posted, I was told that the dip was in the wrong place and would be deadly. As I reflect on it now, it prompted me to do a teeny bit of research, and this was the gem: “The spikes should appear in regular clusters. Each represents one whole heartbeat.”
Isn’t it remarkable that each pulse of life is a community?

A deeper note which only the stillness of the heart makes clear.
It moves directly to the core of our being. Our questions are answered,
Our spirits refreshed, and we move back into the traffic of our daily round
With the peace of the Eternal in our step.”
—Howard Thurman, Meditations of the Heart, p. 29
“Seven Years of Wonder” is a daily look back at my creative journaling posts since 2014. I began this journey on Feb. 11, 2021, and hope to continue through Feb. 10, 2022. What am I learning about my art and faith journey thus far? What has remained constant? Where have I been changed? How is this impacting present and future art-making?
A deep bow of gratitude to you for keeping me company on this journey.
