Today my dad would have turned 84. It’s been twenty years since his death and cosmic birth.
Also today I have dear friends who have returned to El Salvador for their 22nd Mission of Healing. I pray for the well-being of the whole team and all who participate.
Here’s a haiku in tribute to today:
Love wells in my heart,
brimming memories, so full.
Banquet, River, Home.
2013 – Remember the long banners that were on my Texas foyer floor a week or so ago? Here they are, painted and hanging outside Luz Divina in Peru. You can perhaps imagine it was a bit of a comical effort for me to toss them over the beams from the second floor windows. 🙂 I include a few other photos that are meaningful to me this morning and point you in the direction of an album with more, in case you’re curious.

2016 – The image below was created during the 2016 Mission of Healing in El Salvador. It carries Holly‘s “Love Life!” mantra. Holly and my oldest son were in confirmation together.

“Seven Years of Wonder” is a daily look back at my creative journaling posts since 2014. I began this journey on Feb. 11, 2021, and hope to continue through Feb. 10, 2022. What am I learning about my art and faith journey thus far? What has remained constant? Where have I been changed? How is this impacting present and future art-making?
A deep bow of gratitude to you for keeping me company on this journey.
