Greetings, Friend!
I realize it’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. Thanks for sticking around!
The painting below is the first of three 36”x24” paintings for our Wisconsin cabin. My hope/plan is to feature cattails in the second and the potato bean vine in the third. All three plants grow wildly and were important to the indigenous people who once lived where I now live.

Recently I listened to this conversation between Vivek Murthy and Robin Wall Kimmerer and it inspired a humble haiku response:
Sacred lotus kin,
inspire in us a deep love.
We are family.
To catch you up on some of my recent creative shenanigans, here’s my series of 9″x12″ oil paintings of the American Lotus:

The paintings in this post are peeks into some holy time on the Mississippi River at Blackhawk Park. Grateful for my husband, Jim, who takes the stern!

Hope this post finds you well in body and spirit.
