My Facebook Friend Shellee Layne-Coley recently shared a song that stirred my heart in the most beautiful way. As she sang, I created this doodle. Feel free to download the image (from Facebook) and color it as you listen to Shellee’s song. For me, it was a good way to start this day.

This morning Poet Malcolm Guite shared a tribute to St. Cuthbert, in whose honor the Lindesfarne Gospels were made. Malcolm’s sonnet closes like this:
“…You roam the North just as you used to do;
Always on foot and walking with the poor,
Breaking the bread of angels in your cave,
A sanctuary, a sign, an open door,
You follow Christ through keening wind and wave,
To be and bear with him where all is borne;
The heart of heaven, in your Inner Farne.”
Allowing Jacinda Ardern’s words to the grieving families of New Zealand to hover over the work of my Inner Farne felt right.

‘Blessed is the king
who comes in the name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven,
and glory in the highest heaven!’
Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, ‘Teacher, order your disciples to stop.’ He answered, ‘I tell you, if these were silent, the stones would shout out.'”
~Luke 19:37-40

“God simply keeps reaching down into the dirt of humanity and resurrecting us from the graves we dig for ourselves through our violence, our lies, our selfishness, our arrogance, and our addictions.” ~Nadia Bolz-Weber

Journaling a thought from Nadia Bolz-Weber’s book, Pastrix. So very excited that she’s speaking in Houston this Saturday!
