“Mira!” is Spanish. Its English translation is the invitation (some would say, the command), “Look!”

How remarkable is it that you need my peculiar gift as much as I need yours. All I can offer, though, is my half of the zipper to the fray and then wait for you to offer yours. Can you see the half-zipper in the 2014 image that says, “risk it, try it, lose yourself” for the healing of the world?

We are, as Kayla McClurg wrote in 2015, “primed for grace” when we heed the least likely messengers among us.

With attention and love, we’ll see the miracles.

“Seven Years of Wonder” is a daily look back at my creative journaling posts since 2014. I began this journey on Feb. 11, 2021, and hope to continue through Feb. 10, 2022. What am I learning about my art and faith journey thus far? What has remained constant? Where have I been changed? How is this impacting present and future art-making?

A deep bow of gratitude to you for keeping me company on this journey.
