My heart is so very grateful for the past week with family. Meals, games, laughter, warm weather, conversation, time together… All the best stuff of life!
Over the years my birthday (which is today) has often served as a hinge of return. In my youth, it was the day to go back to school after vacation. Because we’ve lived far from family, there have been plenty of years when it served as a long day for travel.
Today it’s a bit different. Today I stay put and send my children back to their regularly-scheduled lives. A bittersweet day for my heart.
Since we’re still together this morning, though… Let the day begin! May I see its tremendous blessing.
